A Trip Down the Clyde
Created from clips of amateur films of the river Clyde taken from the Scottish Screen Archive 'A Trip Down the Clyde' was commissioned by The Lighthouse for the exhibition 'The Clyde – Films of the River 1912-1971' in 2009. An original soundtrack was created by Mark Vernon using field recordings, found tapes and interviews collected during memory sharing workshops at the Lighthouse. None of the original film sound was used. The film was edited to the completed audio track afterwards by Rob Kennedy.
A re-worked version of this soundtrack formed part of an installation at the former Fairfield shipbuilding offices for the Glasgow International Festival of Visual Art in 2010 and was also aired on Glasgow’s Sunny Govan Radio 103.5fm in 2011.
