Radiophrenia is a temporary art radio station based in Glasgow. The project is managed by Mark Vernon and Barry Burns and is supported by Creative Scotland with additional support from CCA Glasgow.

Radiophrenia’s first season of broadcasts in 2015 took the form of a week-long exploration into current trends in sound and transmission arts. Broadcasting live from the Centre for Contemporary Arts, the station aimed to promote radio as an art form, encouraging challenging and radical new approaches to the medium. The broadcast schedule included live shows, pre-recorded features and a daily series of ‘live-to-air’performances. The majority of the schedule was made up from selections submitted to an international open call for sound and radio works.

Radiophrenia returns to the airwaves in 2016 for a second season of broadcasts including more Live-to-Air performances and a series of newly commissioned radio works.
